August Spin

I just washed up my August spin, a combination of eight ounces of Two If By Hand "Cuttlefish" on Shetland and nine ounces of Southern Cross Fibre "Submerge" on Shetland. It is one long gradient that I plan to use in a Fair Isle vest. Happy Knitting, Lisa Kay

Mighty Wolf Arrived!

After a strange SNAFU where I received a different model loom destined for North Carolina (and she received mine), the looms have been swapped, and the Mighty Wolf is here! Thanks go to my dad for receiving it while I was otherwise unavailable! (I stayed home on Wednesday to receive it, but that's when the wrong one arrived. Ack!) After unpacking it and moving it into the living room, it looked like this: Unfolded, it looked like this: I have to admit, it really does take up rather a large swath in the living room... I spent all afternoon and evening putting it together (stroller/wheels, tying on apron rods, putting 1000 heddles on the shafts, and inserting the 80 treadle tie-ups onto the shaft frames. Now, I’ve just sleyed the Fiesta Towel warp I had waiting. It is the same pattern as the towels I made in lessons, so it is a bit of a "trying out the new loom" project, and not so much trying out a new project! Happy Knitting, Lisa Kay

Second Grader

Mitchell started second grade this week. He was a little nervous, and he cut a chunk of his bangs the day before school started. I evened it out as much as I could... Back in the saddle again! Happy Knitting, Lisa Kay

Wicked Troll

You didn't think I wasn't knitting at all, did you? Back in March, I spun Hello Yarn's "Troll" on Polwarth . I started a sweater using the pattern " Wicked ," and that makes it, apparently, a "Wicked Troll." :) I just have the sleeves left to do. I have plenty of yarn to make long sleeves. Classic Cardigan - Finally!

It seems like a long time since I've posted about the " Classic Cardigan ." I got distracted by Tour de Fleece, weaving, work, whatnot. So, without further ado, here it is: Ravelry Project Page . Happy Knitting, Lisa Kay

Ocean Waves

I finished the third Earth Guild scarf last week, while I was on vacation. I've just now taken photos... This one is the colorway "Ocean Waves." Still no shipping notice on the Mighty Wolf ... I contacted the distributor, and they replied it "should ship soon." Happy Knitting, Lisa Kay

Mini Vacation

Chris, Mitchell, and I went away for a couple of days, not too far away, but just a little overnight driving trip into Missouri wine country. On the way, we went by one of our favorite stores, Cabela's in St. Charles, and we made our first stop. Mitchell always likes to go there because of the fish tanks and taxidermy. He posed in front of some of the animals, and I carefully positioned him in front of the bear. From there, we went on to Defiance, MO, and the Daniel Boone Home . Mitchell's favorite part was the lizard in the front garden. I foolishly took no pictures, there, but I did buy some tea. The tea was made in bricks for shipping at that time, and the gift shop has some of available for the tourists. I don't really think it is going to be the best tea (and it may not even be at all fresh), but I thought it was so interesting that I ought to try it. Apparently, one simply scrapes some pieces off to brew it... We stayed overnight in a hotel with an indoor po
