Tempest

Hi, Here is a picture of Tempest from Knitty, the back knitted up in Great Adirondack Silky Sock from the Loopy Ewe . I have used two colors that are probably too overlapping, but are interesting. The stripes get a bit lost... Ah, well. The other pair of yarns I have for this sweater (orange and brown Dream in Color) will be just the opposite... Very contrasting. The lamb is " Little Loopy " from the Loopy Ewe. Mitchell likes him and was waiting very patiently for me to let him have the lamb. Happy Knitting! Lisa Kay

Illini Coloring

Hi! Mitchell asked for "Mermaid" (the movie, "The Little Mermaid,") first thing this morning. We're trying to reduce the movies, mainly having them in the afternoon and evening. So, we tried to distract him with some other activities. Chris got him coloring, and then Mitchell wanted to sit on his lap to color. At that point, I realized they both had their Illini colors on, so the camera came out. (The MIT sweatshirt I got for Mitchell at Christmas is still a little too big...) Happy Knitting! Lisa Kay

Yellow Rose, Purple Clematis

Hi, When Chris and I were married in 2004, my Uncle Virgil gave us a gift certificate to a local nursery. (Uncle Virgil and I have traded plants on and off since I lived in Virginia.) It took me some time to figure out what I wanted to do with it. Last spring, I finally decided, and I purchased two clematis plants and a yellow climbing rose to espalier on the back of the deck. This is only a year since they were planted, and they look gorgeous! I still have some training/pruning to do to get them going across the wires on the deck, but they're showing a lot of promise! Happy Knitting! Lisa Kay

Play-Doh and a T-Rex

Hi! Mitchell asks to play with Play-Doh almost every day. We have a pretty good collection of colors, now, and we got him some "tools" for Play-Doh on his birthday. He also still enjoys his dinosaurs. He knows a lot of the names (T-Rex, Raptor, Triceratops, Brachiosaur...). He combined the two toys and we ended up with a T-Rex in a wizard cap. It sounded like Mitchell was saying, "Dunce Cap," but we aren't sure where he would have heard that! Happy Knitting! Lisa Kay

Trellis Scarf

Hi, Here's a quick project that I made on the way home on my last trip to Maryland. I used the "Trellis Scarf" in the Spring 2006 Interweave Knits. That is a wider/longer scarf, but I only used one pattern repeat and made it short enough to wear as a tie around the neck. It's a birthday gift for Ellen. (Happy Birthday, Ellen!) It is Rowan Kidsilk Haze, from the same ball I used for the Koolhaas Hat. Happy Knitting! Lisa Kay

Cute Close Up

Hi, In all the studio shots we had done, here is a super cute one. It looks like he's trying to give me rabbit ears. Happy Knitting, Lisa Kay

Elegaunts Completed!

Hi! The Elegaunts (previously posted single complete one) are quick to knit, and I really like them. They'll be great this winter. My mom and I did some shopping on my birthday. I took the day off. We went to two LYS's, and I picked up two different yarns to make my mom Elegaunts (and two sweater's worth of yarn... I'm incorrigible!) Happy Knitting! Lisa Kay

CPH - Done!

Hi! I am excited and proud to report successful and lovely completion of the Central Park Hoodie ( with Viking Cable Substitution ). Yea! I am thrilled with how it turned out! Happy Knitting! Lisa Kay

Rock Climbing

Hi! It was about the most beautiful day in the spring all year, yesterday. Of course, we went to the park (after I worked a couple of hours... sheesh!). We continue to be amazed at how fast Mitchell is growing. He'll be 2.5 in a few days. What a little champ! Happy Knitting! Lisa Kay P.S. Yes, that is Daddy's car in the background!

Elegaunts

Hi, While I was on my trip, Ellen gave me this beautiful Debbie Bliss Pure Cashmere to make some Elegaunts (Ellen's own pattern). These will come in handy for those days I'm covered with a blanket to knit but my hands are cold because they aren't under the blanket. It is tough to knit with gloves on! I have the first one done... Happy Knitting! Lisa Kay

Koolhaas

Hi, I used some leftover Dream In Color Classy to make a Koolhaas hat. I knitted it together with some Rowan Kidsilk Haze to give it a bit of fuzz. I'm not done with the CPH, yet, but it is too big to tote on a trip. Now that I'm back home, I need to seam in the sleeves and knit on the front band. Happy Knitting, Lisa Kay

CPH - Sleeves Done

Hi, I finished the CPH sleeves in my "few minutes of knitting before going to work" period. I've been starting my day that way quite a few days (when I don't go in extra early), and it has been a fun way to start the day. Anyway, all I have left is to seam on the sleeves and then seam the side/arm, and then the front band. Yea! Happy Knitting! Lisa Kay
