Cartoons

Chris likes to doodle, and he draws a lot with Mitchell. Here's one from this weekend. After I saw this, I teased Chris that he should do some cartoons for sidebars in a knitting book. At that, he drew the following: Hmmm. Happy Knitting, Lisa Kay

Celaeno

I mentioned the marvelous new shawl pattern, Celaeno, in my last post. It is now up. Blog pictures here , and Ravelry link here . Wonderful! I have that lovely blue 50/50 merino/silk from Orange Flower, shown in my previous post. I also have a red possibility...   Saffron Dyeworks , Mini Mica in "Ruby Slipper" Happy Knitting, Lisa Kay

Yarn Clubs

I've been knitting furiously on something I can't share, yet, so I'll share some yarn clubs, instead. I got two, last week, along with a specific order from a new (to me) indie yarn dyer, and they all seem to go together, oddly. Zen Yarn Garden, Art Walk Sock Club The Plucky Knitter , Little Black Dress Club   Orange Flower , 50/50 Merino-Silk I thought it was funny how the two solids seemed to be similar to the colors in the Art Club yarn. I found the Orange Flower etsy site through a Ravelry forum for Romi's designs. Romi has a wonderful new small shawl pattern, Celaeno , coming out soon, with pictures on her blog  (look for Sept 8). The Orange Flower yarn might work wonderfully for that. The shawl has a lot of beading. Romi also has a mitt pattern as part of her small shawls " ebook ," which I may try, first, just to get a hang of whether I like beaded knitting or not... All the patterns in the ebook are wonderful! Two of them, Merope and Maia ,

Mitsy

We have a neighbor kitty that has been visiting us a lot, lately. Our neighbor out back told us she lives across the street from him, and her name is Mitsy. We seem to be on her prowling path. I know there are mice in the flower bed out by the fire hydrant, because I've seen them scamper around while I'm weeding. Perhaps Mitsy has seen them, too, because I've found her sitting watching that area. She likes the cool area on our porch and can be found hanging out there, sometimes. Mitchell discovered that she likes to play. She seems to still have a bit of kitten left in her. She's really friendly and likes to be petted, so we've taken up with her. Chris even gave her some bacon, yesterday! :) Happy Knitting, Lisa Kay

Hoodie Socks Done

I finished the second sock in the Socks For My Hoodie . I've been keeping them as a "riding in the car" project, using my time at home working on some Christmas gifts and other items I can't post... secret projects! :) Happy Knitting! Lisa Kay

Art Hill

The last few days have been as perfect as anyone could want. We went for a drive and ate lunch in St. Louis, taking a meandering path through Forest Park. We let Mitchell out at Art Hill (in front of the Fine Art Museum), and he posed for a few photos... He only has so much patience for the camera... He makes me want to jump for joy, too. I am very blessed. Happy Knitting, Lisa Kay
