Lisa Kay Knits... and Quilts!

I happened to glance out the front window on my way down the hall, just before bedtime last night, and I noticed that there was a suspiciously amphibian-shaped silouette on the top of the arch. On closer inspection, it was a froggy visitor, hanging out, eating bugs. Go for it, buddy! I wanted to get a picture, though I wasn't sure it would turn out usable. Mitchell was highly amused, and he wanted to be held up to see the frog. Never mind that we were in various states of dress, in the front window of the house. :) Happy Knitting, Lisa Kay

Hi, Last week, we saw the Easter Bunny at the mall. Mitchell sat impatiently on his lap for a picture and told him he wanted candy for Easter. He thought it was sort of like telling Santa Claus what you want for Christmas. Well, we try to minimize the candy. The basket that came from the "Easter Bunny" did have some candy, but also a few toys. There were also some "Noah's Ark" eggs (shaped like animals), which Mitchell enjoyed hunting, first thing this morning. We are very blessed. Happy Easter, Lisa Kay

Hi, Well, it may make perfect sense to everybody else, but I'm surprised and oddly pleased to announce we put away our Christmas things, today. The odd thing about it is that we have had them up since the first weekend in November in 2008 . Last year, whenever I mentioned putting them up, Mitchell would say he wanted them to stay out. It was just enough of an excuse to keep me from dragging the boxes out of the basement and doing the chore. By the time summer rolled around, we used the excuse that it was already closer to "next Christmas" than to "last Christmas," and we knew the stuff was up for the year. So, I tried to not allow any procrastination, this year. Mitchell initially said he wanted to leave them out, but he didn't protest after I really got going. After all, now he has another little space for toys! (Much needed...) Maybe sometime soon I can take the baby-proofing padding off the edge of the hearth bricks... Happy Knitting, Lisa Ka...

Hi, Chris went out to mow today and found a turtle hunkered down in the middle of the yard, dug in. It seemed very strange. He came in and got me and Mitchell to go see it (her). It seemed like maybe she was laying eggs. Hmmm. She just sat there until we backed up, and then she rambled off across the yard. I took a look at the hole, and I was amazed how deep it seemed to be. I couldn't see any eggs in there. Either I interrupted the process, or they are really deep down... or maybe I just don't understand what was going on. As she powered off across the neighbor's yard, she kept looking back at us. I felt bad for bothering her. Happy Knitting, Lisa Kay
