Day At The Park

Hi, Troy Park had the gates unlocked to the "petting zoo." They're usually closed on the weekend. Mitchell enjoyed getting up close (though he occasionally jumped behind Daddy). Mitchell is getting adventurous on the equipment. This makes him look like a budding gymnast! Happy Knitting! Lisa Kay

Five Swallows

Hi, Further investigation shows five beaks (and ten beady little blue eyes). They seem to be a bit cramped in there. The mommy and daddy swallows did not appreciate my attention... Daylilies are going strong. Happy Knitting, Lisa Kay

A Work-Related Comment

Hi, While it would be innappropriate for me to comment one way or another, I think you may find the following results of the t_a_n_k_e_r_p_r_o_t_e_s_t interesting. (Funny typing to keep searches on the topic from finding this page.) Here is the summary of the results (3 pages), and here is the complete report (67 pages). And as long as I'm pointing to interesting things, you might like this one , or this . And one more , added July 4. Happy Knitting, Lisa Kay

Daylilies, Swallows, and a Boy

Hi, We have three lovely varieties of daylilies starting to bloom in our yard, yellow (far left, Stella d'Oro), red (foreground, Crimson Pirate), and orange (far right, not sure of the variety). They don't usually bloom all at one time, so something weird is going on. It has been absolutely gorgeous here, mid-eighties, and it is hard to stay inside at work all day. It is nice to get home and spend a few minutes outside with Mitchell. We have swallows nesting over our door for the second year in a row. It makes a mess on the front step. We tried to discourage her, taking the nest down every day, several days in a row, but she kept going back. We finally felt guilty that she would be laying eggs and not have any nest, so we let her be. Now she has at least four (that we can see at a time) beaks poking out of there. Mitchell likes to run around in the yard. We try to keep him off of the front step, though. When my yarn packages are delivered, Pam (the mail carrier) is usually good

Are You Talking to Me?

Hi, I'm catching up on my blogging (three in one day). Here's a fun one of Mitchell... They say a picture is worth 1000 words! Happy Knitting! Lisa Kay

Tempest Sleeves

Hi, I finished the Tempest Sleeves. I found the color switching a lot more convenient after I went to circular needles. I'm doing a size with an odd number of rows in each color, so sometimes the yarn is at the wrong end at the switch. With circulars, you just slide back to the other end and do another row on the same side (wrong side or right side). I did the fronts and back on straight needles, and I had to cut the yarn a lot. Duh! I thought I'd get Mitchell and Loopy in the picture, again, and Mitchell was not too happy about having to share Loopy. I keep Loopy put away most of the time. When I get him out, Mitchell runs off with him... Happy Knitting! Lisa Kay

Harry Potter II

Hi, Mitchell got a hold of Mommy's collectible Harry Potter glasses (part of a movie promotion, a while back), and he helpfully modeled them. Happy Knitting, Lisa Kay

Ice Scream, You Scream...

We all scream for ice cream! Mitchell has become quite the ice cream fan. When I got back from Las Vegas on Sunday night, Mitchell asked to go to the "ice cream store." He likes to share Daddy's vanilla custard with raspberry. (Mommy had chocolate custard with Bailey's and whipped cream!) Mitchell likes to eat it himself... ...but that ends up being pretty messy, so sometimes Daddy helps. Either way, he's awfully cute. Happy Knitting! Lisa Kay (P.S. Tempest fronts are blocking, and sleeves are about half done.)
