Paint Me A River

Hi, Mitchell got out his paints for the first time in a while. We opened a new one. He only used the blue. He seemed to be making a river... Happy Knitting! Lisa Kay

Peacock Singles

Hi, I finished the first braid of Gale's Art Peacock in a worsted single. (The 2-ply was shown two posts back.) I'm happy, so far. I need to knit up a swatch and see if it is close to Silk Garden worsted... Happy Knitting, Lisa Kay

Spring -- with a vengeance

Hi, It was extremely warm this morning, in the 70's early. We took our first trip to the park. We had to leave due to a line of tornadoes coming through the area. Luckily (for us), they actually passed to the north and south of us. There is a cold front dropping the temperatures very quickly. I think we'll be back in winter by the end of the day. We had a milestone at the park, today. Mitchell slid off the slide and stood up. There was a two-year old there who also, technically, did the same thing, but he was "putting on the breaks" at the end. Mitchell likes speed and just lets himself fly off the end, and he usually tips over or falls on his back (or Mommy catches him). Today, he was getting it pretty well on his own. He is growing up fast! Happy Knitting, Lisa Kay

Gale's Art Peacock

Hi, I finished spinning the first of my seven braids of Gale's Art Peacock (100% black BFL wool). I ordered this roving from The Loopy Ewe , last October. I'm working on the second braid in 2-ply, also, but I'm thinking of trying something different with the others. I like the single so much that I'm thinking of trying a worsted single, sort of like a Noro Silk Garden , worsted weight, something I could substitute in a Jane Ellison pattern. I could get a pretty long repeat with this if I pre-drafted the braid in one big piece instead of separating it into strips. Hmmm... Happy Spinning! Lisa Kay

Tomten Borders

Hi, I finished the black border on the Tomten Jacket. As soon as I laid it out, Mitchell ran over and plopped himself down on top of it and said, "Take my picture." So, of course, I did! I am happy with the way the stand-up collar turned out. I'm planning to put a zipper in the front. Happy Knitting! Lisa Kay

All Spun Up Spin-Along Fiber

Hi, I finished spinning for a January-February spin-along, last night, so I just barely made February completion. It is 70% Merino and 30% Alpaca (my new favorite!) from All Spun Up . Highly recommended! There is a forum/group for All Spun Up on Ravelry, also. Here's a close-up of the plies. Happy Spinning! Lisa Kay
