CPH Viking Version Cable Instructions

Hi! I'm so excited by how the CPH "Viking Version" is turning out, even though it is just started. Here is a picture of the back, not quite done. The following modifications apply to the “Central Park Hoodie” designed by Heather Lodinsky, originally published in the Fall 2006 Knit Scene magazine, and available for download via Knitting Daily. The modifications here assume the knitter has purchased the Central Park Hoodie (CPH) pattern. The “Viking Version” replaces the cable charts in the CPH, and provides instructions for incorporating and working those cables, but the CPH instructions are not provided here, for copyright reasons, obviously! If you want the “Viking Version,” you still have to buy the CPH pattern, then add these modifications. The original CPH uses three cable charts, two 10-stitch charts (A and C), and one 18-stitch chart (chart B). The Viking Version substitutes 12-stitch cables for A and C, and a 28-stitch cable for B, with only 20 stitches in the “C...

Tooth Brushing

Hi! Mitchell actually likes to brush his teeth, although he seems to mainly be savoring the toothpaste. Happy Knitting, Lisa Kay

Chim-Chim-Cheree!

Hi! Mary Poppins has been a current favorite in our box office. With many of the Disney films and other children's material, there are a lot of songs. Mitchell often asks to sing or dance, which really means both, of course. Here are Mitchell and Daddy, singing and dancing to "Chim-Chim-Cheree." Happy Knitting, Lisa Kay

Sidetracked! CPH

Hi! I've joined The Loopy Ewe's (TLE) Dream in Color (DIC) knit-along (KAL). TLE gave a 20% discount on the yarn for joining the KAL. I think they've extended the deadline, if you are interested. Anyway, you can knit any sweater pattern you want. If you post pictures to their web site by June 1, you get entered in a drawing for some nice yarn prizes. Yea! All other knitting (primarily Wrixlan Jacket and Posey #2) have been put on the back burner while I attempt to crank out a Central Park Hoodie (CPH) by Heather Lodinsky. I have made some cable chart changes, and carried cables into the ribbing. Photo shows the ribbing for the back. Obviously, for those familiar with the CPH, it is already a bit different. The DIC yarn is actually the same line I'm using for the Wrixlan Jacket, in a different colorway. This colorway is "Ruby River." I really like it. TLE said they may offer another discount on DIC for anyone completing their entry by June 1, so maybe I'...

Painting with Gma E

Hi, I took off today, and stayed at home with Mitchell and did a little knitting. Gma E came up to see us, braving the ice, and they did some painting. Mitchell asks to paint just about every day, now. Play-doh seems to be fading as a favorite, but we still do that quite a bit, too. Happy Knitting! Lisa Kay

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hi! Here's a picture of my guys. I'm a lucky lady! Happy Knitting, Lisa Kay

Coloring With Gpa E

Hi! When I got back to the airport, Mitchell's grandparents were eager to see him, and they came up to the house for the afternoon. Everybody loves their "Mitchell Time!" Happy Knitting, Lisa Kay

Wrixlan Back Done

Hi! I finished the Wrixlan Jacket back just before I went to California, last weekend, and I left it blocking. Here it is! Happy Knitting! Lisa Kay

Snow Day

Hi! We spent some time in the yard with the snow, with Daddy pulling Mitchell on the sled, and then with both the guys shoveling. Mitchell didn't make much progress with his garden trowel, but he gave it a good effort! He was all tuckered out when we came inside. Like little ones who turn blue in a cool swimming pool, he still didn't want to stop and get warm. I had to drag him in the house hollering, "Stay outside! Stay outside!" My fingers were going numb, though, and he was wetter than I was. Kids! Happy Knitting! Lisa Kay

Frog Park

Hi, As you might guess, I'm automatically a big fan of any park that would put up a six foot long frog statue. We took this picture on one of our record high January days. Now, we have several inches of snow on the ground, and Boeing is closed for the first time I've ever heard of. Snow day! We'll have to get out and get some snow pictures... We have real mittens this time! Happy Knitting! Lisa Kay
