Daylilies, Swallows, and a Boy

Hi,

We have three lovely varieties of daylilies starting to bloom in our yard, yellow (far left, Stella d'Oro), red (foreground, Crimson Pirate), and orange (far right, not sure of the variety). They don't usually bloom all at one time, so something weird is going on.

It has been absolutely gorgeous here, mid-eighties, and it is hard to stay inside at work all day. It is nice to get home and spend a few minutes outside with Mitchell.

We have swallows nesting over our door for the second year in a row. It makes a mess on the front step. We tried to discourage her, taking the nest down every day, several days in a row, but she kept going back. We finally felt guilty that she would be laying eggs and not have any nest, so we let her be. Now she has at least four (that we can see at a time) beaks poking out of there.

Mitchell likes to run around in the yard. We try to keep him off of the front step, though. When my yarn packages are delivered, Pam (the mail carrier) is usually good enough to put them off to the side, out of range of the nest.

Happy Knitting,
Lisa Kay

I just came across your blog I noticed that you have made the Central Park Hoodie. I'm just finishing my sleeves. It has been a fun sweater to knit!

Hi Lisa...
I just wanted to say how much I enjoy your blog. I'm a "closet" male knitter and ran across your blog in an internet search. Thank you for sharing your knitting and your life with us.

Well, Ted, the cat is out of the bag, now! When I think of male knitters, I think of an article in one of Sally Melville's books, "Why Don't More Men Get This?" She said her husband used to entertain her children by knitting in public... they liked to watch people's reactions! :)

Lovely flowers, and your little guy is adorable!

I'm still working on my Posey socks. I've temporarily set them aside to finish a gift for a friend, but they are always on my mind!
