More Gale's Art Homespun

Hi,

I finished spinning another colorway of Gale's Art, Ruby Swirl, a couple of weeks ago. I have two skeins of the purple, which coordinates with the Peacock plied yarn I had made already. I think it would look lovely in something striped, such as perhaps this. Perhaps it would need to be slightly more feminine, though. Maybe a scooped neck? The colors would help, obviously.

I'm not sure I'm brave enough for steeking, yet, though.

Happy Knitting,
Lisa Kay

I think it would look fine with just those colors. They would make it more feminine already. You can do it. Gale's Art aka "Spinner's Crack" I am constantly stalking her site.

I wanted to compliment you on the great spinning job you did on the two yarns you show. I'm a knitter, but not a spinner and don't think that I ever will be. It kinda scares me. And the wheel appears to be a big investment. Maybe I could start with a spindle. Do you think that would produce such an even yarn as you created?

Hi,

I started on a spindle, and a spun a whole 4 oz roving on the spindle. I then got a wheel and spun another 4 oz of the same roving on the wheel. Now, I can't tell the difference. You can spin just as well on a spindle. It just takes a lot longer.
