Hi! The dragon is last year's Halloween costume. It has been hanging around the house... Mitchell likes to tell Mommy to put it on! This year, we have an Elmo costume. Hi! Mitchell is a thrill-seeker. He likes to be tossed in the air (in or out of the pool), and he likes to climb. He bounces on the bed, either the "little bed" (crib) or the "big bed" (Mommy and Daddy's bed). I started calling him an acrobat, and now he can say , "Acrobat." What a little stinker! Hi! I've been purchasing yarns that appeal to me, and not worrying much about how they matched anything I have in my closet. (Pants cover them most of the time anyway...) However, I recently bought some fun green pants, and then I saw a cute yarn and decided to get that to "match" the pants. Now I just need to get knitting... Happy Knitting! Lisa Kay

Hi! We take Mitchell to the park often, since we have a very nice one in town. We had him up there, today, feeding the ducks and goats and playing on the equipment. He really likes the slides... both directions! Happy Knitting! Lisa Kay

Hi! While on my way to Whidbey Island, yesterday, I finished up the second sock in pair #3. I used the Stansfield 304 pattern from More Sensational Knitted Socks, again. The Seacoast Panda knitted up beautifully, and it sets off the stitch pattern very well. The colors were well-separated in the pattern stitch. On the heel and toe they pooled just a bit due to the shorter repeat. This seems to imply that you could get a yarn that "pooled" to behave better by knitting a different number of stitches. It's a bit like a resonance... at a certain stitch repeat rate, the colors line up. You could just knit for somebody else-- someone with a different foot size. I'm sure my husband would have loved a pair of socks this color (pink, pink, and pink)! Happy Knitting! Lisa Kay

Hi! We took Mitchell to our local city park, today. He loves to slide, and sometimes he slides by himself on the smaller slides. We still swing and slide with him some of the time, though. They grow up so fast! He is just 21 months old. Happy Knitting! Lisa Kay

Hi! I'm off at Pax again, taking advantage of a chance to drop in at Crazy For Ewe, especially for the Knitting Happy Hour on Wednesday night. :) Below are pictures of the shop and the knitters. That's Ellen, the lovely owner, in the middle/left of the first picture and far right of the second. Of course, I had to take the opportunity to pick up some gorgeous new yarns! And, in keeping with my interest of late, it is all sock yarn! The first picture is three colorways of Jitterbug, then two Ellyn Cooper Yarn Sonnets in the second picture, and the third picture is the "Sock Club" yarn, a custom-died Great Adirondack Yarn Company hand-paint. It won't be available anywhere else! The sock club also has patterns, and I just printed them out in the hotel's business center. OK, maybe I really should think about getting some sleep. Hmmm... Hi! To show that I really am knitting, and not just buying, here is the first of the two Stansfield 304 socks. I was going to wait until the second one was done, but I had to start over. Hi! It sounds like something Robin would say. "Winding Yarn Balls, Batman!" I'm always surprised how different hand-painted yarn looks in the ball than in the hank. The one above is Seacoast Panda, in color Glacier. (60% Merino, 30% Bamboo, 10% Nylon). The pink is another colorway of the Seacoast Panda, color Cherry Fizz. This one is The Knittery's Merino Cashmere Sock, in color Watercolors. (60% Merino, 20% Cashmere, 20% Nylon). And, in case you were wondering, here is my ball-winding set-up. I haven't had the swift and winder very long. I ordered back in January or so, but I ordered a wooden one. After waiting about six months, they finally sent... a plastic one. I just asked for a refund of the difference in price and started winding... Here are the three blue yarns (previously posted as hanks), wound into balls.
